GOLF TRAVEL GUIDE

FOR THE GOLF CONNISESOUR

Scotland golf tours are something to behold. Nowhere in the world can you show you golf quite like its birthplace.

A golf trip to Scotland is made a lot simpler by the well connected accommodations that compliment the courses. After days teeing off with friends or family, relax in the comfort of the country's finest hospitality.

If you’re a fan of watching golf as well as playing, attend one of many golf tournaments held across the country - we’ll list those below.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A SCOTLAND GOLF TRIP

With over 550 golf courses scattered across the nation, Scotland offers a variety of play that you won't find anywhere else. The landscapes themselves are built into the game, where shifting coastal winds and winding fairways add just the right amount of challenge to keep things exciting.

It is a setting perfectly suited for more than just a great round; it’s a place for bringing generations together or catching up with friends over a shared love for the sport.

Our founders are avid players themselves and specialise in navigating the incredible selection of courses available. They curate itineraries that strike the perfect balance between iconic, bucket-list courses and hidden gems away from the crowds, and they’ve personally tested every recommendation to make sure it hits the mark.

FOR THE SPECTATORS

Time your trip to attend one of the country's world-class tournaments and watch the pros take on the elements.

FOR THE CASUAL PLAYER

We can easily tuck a few rounds into a broader, vibrant Scotland itinerary for a more relaxed pace.

DFH RECOMMENDS

GLENEAGLES GOLF COURSES

Home to three world-class championship courses and a nine-hole course, Gleneagles has hosted both the Ryder and Solheim Cups. Consistently ranked at the top of the Golf World Top 100 UK & Ireland Resorts, Gleneagles offers a complete experience for every level of player.

CAMERON HOUSE GOLF COURSE

Tee off for a proper Highlands experience where stunning lochside views meet some clever course design. You’ve got the 18-hole Carrick, with Loch Lomond acting as the world's most beautiful water hazard. If you’re after something quicker but just as punchy, the Wee Demon 9-hole course tests your short game with some deviously placed sand traps.

CAWDOR CASTLE GOLF COURSE

Nestled within 25 acres of stunning parkland, the 9-hole course at Cawdor Castle has been a local fixture since 1976. This par-32 course offers a versatile layout designed to entertain both seasoned golfers and newcomers alike. The course operates seasonally from May 1st to October 31st.

TROON LINKS & ROYAL TROON

The Troon coastline offers a remarkable golfing landscape where prestigious heritage meets public accessibility. Encircling the town are six distinct courses, ranging from the world-renowned Royal Troon, an exclusive private club and Open Championship host, to the approachable Troon Links. While Royal Troon provides a high-end, historic experience on its Old and Portland courses, the neighboring municipal trio of Darley, Lochgreen, and Fullarton offers high-quality, affordable play for all skill levels.
